Crossing Fingers for Egyptians to Succeed

I normally shy away from political statements in this blog. HOWEVER, I hereby declare, that I support the egyptian people in their revolution for democracy and freedom and ousting Mubarak. I know this isn't much, but I really keep my fingers crossed for you to succeed. It is time for a change and you can make this change happen.

Paleojourney - A Mac Photo Booth Diary - Week 4 + Whole30 Start

Image
Okay, the first month of "fully" Primal is over. Frankly, I haven't reached my weight goal, which was an easy 59,9 kg. The reasons? My cold at the start of the month and the last week, eating a Lebkuchen (because my mom frustrated me to no end) and celebrating my new job this Friday with friends (2 Desperados beers, 1 coke, 1 salad with a side of baguette, Tortilla chips). So today I weighed 60,9 kg, which is exactly the same as on December 31st. At the start of this week I was down to 60,2 kg. Well, that's what I get when I don't keep my insulin low and eat wheat. Since I still have my skin issues and I wasn't 100% Paleo and got the receipt for it, I've decided to do the "Whole 30" starting today. Which essentially means eating real food for 30 days straight. I'll "Cut out all the inflammatory, insulin-spiking, calorie-dense but nutritionally sparse food groups for a full 30 days." ( http://whole9life.com/2010/12/whole30-2011/ )...

Guess what?

Image
Can you guess it? No?! Well let me tell you. This was in August on my parents balcony. Luckily there was no Romeo, because I wouldn't have had time for him anyway since I was taking pictures. Hihi. Happy Friday!! Just think only a few more hours and then the work week is done (for most of you anyway).

Taking it down

What you see here is how one of Leipzigs old department stores is deconstructed. It had a tin facade, which can you see being taken off and therefore was called "Blechbüchse". It was deconstructed last spring.

Paleojourney - A Mac Photo Booth Diary - Week 3

Image
I know, I'm one day late. I simply forgot it yesterday, since I was half asleep the whole day. Today I'm fine though. One more week and the 1. Paleo month is over, I hope that I reach my weight goal, but I don't think there'll be a problem. Have a magical week everyone.

A new way

Image
Yep, got the important message and it was a YES, to say I'm excited would be an understatement. So the next weeks will be packed with preparations and then I move and you will enjoy new pictures of Germany. Hope your weekend was nice and you have a good start into the next week.

Introducing ARC. SEE website here . READ CRB blog piece with ARC's editor in chief Holly Bynoe and the magazine's creative director Nadia Huggins  here . FROM THE ARC website: ARC Magazine is a quarterly Caribbean Art and Culture print and e-magazine published out of St. Vincent and the Grenadines by artists Nadia Huggins and Holly Bynoe. We are endeavouring to form a creative platform to offer insight into current practices across the burgeoning creative industries, while bridging the gap between established and emerging artists. Within the recent motions of integration there is a critical space developing where, for the first time, we can envision a converging nexus of artists who want to share their creative experience. ARC Magazine presents a formula, an experiment and an imaginative body of curated work that exhibits the trajectory and the motion of artists who practice within the region. Within our collective networks, we are finding it necessary to make the common man ...

Dark grey day needs green fields and sunshine

Image
Today I'm supposed to get an important message, let's hope it is a yes. I'm in a desperate need of something positive (over 1 1/2 year of job search are taking its toll even on me), especially since my thyroid gland started hurting yesterday evening and I'm feeling really weak today and my new bag (full leather and not cheap) broke on Wednesday evening. Okay, so my horoscope says today is my lucky day, so we'll see how it works out. (Let's be precise, I don't have to wait long at my doc, I get the job, they still have my bag to be abled to switch it and I get everything done that I want to.) Wish all of you a lovely Friday.

Sunday bordering on perfection

Image
A perfect Sunday needs a visit to Starbucks (or a nice café if there isn't any Starbucks). Luckily Leipzig has two Starbucks' and I prefer the two floor shop, since you sit quite undisturbed on the top floor and can watch people and ponder things. Which I did as you can see. I had a major breakthrough Saturday night and I needed to think it through and Starbucks is perfect for this. And I got into a chat with "my" barista and he gave me another idea of where to apply, I'm not talking a Starbucks position. I LOVE Starbucks. These haven't been all pictures, I shot oh, about 95, but who's counting. ;-) Now you may ask why don't I consider this Sunday "perfect", there are three reasons: I missed Chris it's Annoying Week for me I don't go to work tomorrow Hope you all enjoyed your Sundays, as much as I enjoyed mine. Have a good start in your next week (working or not).
