Crinoline


Oui, c'est moi! I accompanied my good friend A* to the bridal store yesterday. After she had worn her very own wedding dress for the first time (she had ordered it months ago) and we had chosen her shoes (which are fantastic I'd love to have them myself, the shoes not the dress), I couldn't restrain myself and had to try on a crinoline. It suits me and now I really want one for my own.

'Cities Connect': Hilary Latta's Cross-Cultural Art Project

Norman admiring his work, Pasay City, Manila, 2011 Certificate III Ceramics student Hilary Latta is undertaking a major community art project between Australia and the Phillipines. Hilary, who is know at  NADC for her high energy, is not only studying ceramics full-time this year, but also employing her art skills  to facilitate an art project  that connects both young and old artists from the two countries. Hilary has recently returned from a two week residency in the Phillipines, where she worked intensively with children from the local school and orphanage to develop artworks on the theme "My City". The children were encouraged to explore their relationship with their enviromnment, and delved into ideas such as sense of place and belonging. Hilary has conducted workshops with children in Sydney that explore the same theme, and is also inviting local schools to join in.
